
This course shall be called B.A., LL.B. 5 Year Integrated Degree Course in Law. 5 years LL.B course is mainly profession or career oriented. Law as a profession offers a several career options for students to explore.
Aspirant pursues law program at undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG) or doctorate (Ph.D) level to practice legal profession in India. A student of any of the course is exposed to a wide range of branches of law. Eligibility for admission :
5 years LL.B Course (Ten Semester Course): A candidate aspiring to get admission for the 5 years LL.B Course. One have to passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) or its equivalent examination with not less than 45 % marks in the aggregate. For SC/ST candidates, he/she is required to have passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) or its equivalent examination with not less than 40 % marks in the aggregate and, for OBC candidates, he/she is required to have passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) or its equivalent examination with not less than 42% Marks.
Duration of Course:
The duration of the course shall be of five years comprising of 10 (ten) semesters.
Attendence :
No student shall be allowed to take the end semester written examination if the student concerned has not attended minimum 75 % of the classes held in the subject concerned as also moot court exercises, practical training etc. taken together.
Curriculum :
The subjects and papers for the course shall be prescribed by the Vidyasagar University from time to time in accordance with the rules of the Bar Council of India.
Examined Papers :
The best law college in West Bengal contains paper which carries 100 marks each. In this a substantial proportion (80 marks) is earmarked and determined by the Vidyasagar University End-Semester written examination and the result of which is determined in accordance with the assessment procedures as fixed by the University from time to time.
The remaining portion (20 marks) of each paper is evaluated internally by the college as per the guidelines given by the University. The whole Assessment of performance is conducted in accordance with the broad guidelines laid down by the Bar Council of India
