
This Course shall be called 2-Year LL.M Degree Course. For LL.M. Course, there are two dissertation papers are required to be submitted by the students in two semesters, which are evaluated with External Teachers as per University Rule. The College has got Autonomy in the LL.M. course from the University to take and organize the semester examinations and other administrative and examination matters relating to LL.M Course.

Master of Law course will provide a scholar the experience and capability of research. In addition to that specialization will further enhance the scope of getting enrolled in Ph.D. Program. So for pursuing Ph.D in Law a postgraduate degree is indispensable. A LL.M degree holder after clearing NET/SET can be eligible for the post of Assistant Professor in Law and in some Universities NET/SET is added qualification for pursuing Ph.D.
Eligibility for admission :
Two Year LL.M. Course (Four Semester Course): A candidate aspiring to get admission for the LL.M Course of the College is required to have passed the LL.B. (Graduate examination in Law) with not less than 50% marks for General Students and 45% marks for SC/ ST/ OBC students. There is no age bar for admission in law college in West Bengal.
Duation of Course:
The duration of Master of Law course shall be of Two years comprising of 4 (four) semesters.
Attendence :
No student shall be allowed to take the end semester written examination if the student concerned has not attended minimum 75 % of the classes held in the subject concerned as also moot court exercises, practical training etc. taken together.
Curriculum :
The subjects and papers for the course shall be prescribed by the Vidyasagar University from time to time in accordance with the rules of the Bar Council of India.
